Mini-Distributions
Mini-distributions are Linux distributions that fit onto and run off
of floppies, or onto DOS/Windows partitions (FAT-12, FAT-16, or FAT-32
partitions). A mini-distribution is designed to be small (not many are over
40mb installed). They also may or may not be designed to offer a complete,
working system - some are intended to give the user a view of what it's like
to run a Linux system. A good example of a floppy-based mini-distribution is muLinux. A good example of a hard drive based
mini-distribution is ZipSlack.
