LDL Categories
Distributions in the Linux Distribution List are classified into 4 categories:
Mini-Distributions:
Those that fit on floppies or on top of DOS/Windows partitions exclusively
Full-sized Distributions:
Those that provide complete operating enviroments and install mainly on ext2-formatted partitions
Special Purpose Distributions:
Those that are created to fill a more specific need, like foreign (non-English) language distributions
Unclassified Distributions:
Those that don't fit into any category, such as Linux ports to embedded systems
